First Class Debut: Barisal Div Oct 2008
List A Debut: Barisal Div Jan 2009
Under-19 World Cup: 2008
Rony Talukdar began as a lower order batsman in the age-level ranks for Bangladesh, and represented the young Tigers in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup after his inclusion in the side in 2007 for a bilateral series against Pakistan U-19. A talented natural stroke-maker in his own right, Rony had the virtue of patience as well, helping him ride up the ranks as a reliable batsman, and he was later promoted to open the innings for his debut First Class and List A matches as well.
He played for Barisal, and later for Dhaka Division, and is currently a member of the Central Zone playing in the Zonal First Class matches.
A high point in Rony’s career came after he scored his maiden first-class double ton for Dhaka Divison in the 2014 NCL season. He also scored heavily in the subsequent ODI league which brought him to the limelight as one for the future.
Rony received his first call-up for the national team squad for the ODI series against Pakistan in 2015, but did not get a debut. He remains one in contention for a potential national team berth, hence has been kept in the High Performance Squad for the 2025-16 season.

First Class Debut: Rangpur Div Oct 2011
List A Debut: BD U-23 Aug 2013
Under-19 World Cup: 2012
With Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh found a batsman of high quality with the standard talent for wicket-keeping: a combination that can boost up the team’s balance in any given format. Walking on the path paved by Mushy walked in new talents, one of the prime ones by the name of Liton Kumar Das.
The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman’s talent had been nurtured through age-levels from the under-15s to the under-19 national team, and also for the under-23 side when he was just 18 years of age.
His aggression at the top was always an asset for his team, and his natural ability to play strokes with sound grammar and elegance was enough to get the sights of the selectors.
Liton had a wonderful 2014 in the domestic circuit, scoring heavy runs in both the shorter and longer versions, and was kept in the 30-man World Cup preliminary squad in 2015 after his excellent run of form in the Dhaka Premier League 2014-15 season.
He finally got a national team call-up for the T20 match and also for the 2 Tests against Pakistan in 2015, but had to wait his time at the bench.
His inclusion in the HP squad only meant that the selectors had kept him in contention for a future spot in the national team as a wicket-keeper batsman who could serve his team for a long stint. His chances could accelerate if Mushfiqur decides to give up keeping and play as a batsman, especially in Test match cricket.

First Class Debut: Dhaka Metro April 2014
List A Debut: Prime Bank Nov 2014
Under-19 World Cup: 2014
A talented left-hand batsman with the flare of the new breed of Tigers coming up through the age-level ranks, Shadman Islam had been an important member of the Bangladesh Under-19 batting line-up in recent times, with important contributions in the 3-2 series victory against Sri Lanka U-19 early in 2015 in Sri Lanka. He had also been part of Bangladesh’s successful U-19 World Cup campaign in 2014.
With the capacity to grind an innings out and also go for the spectacular when required, Shadman impressed with his domestic performances off late.
He has rightfully been included in the HP squad keeping in mind the next-gen stars that would feature for the national team in years to come.
